About North Luangwa National Park
North Luangwa National Park is one of Africa's most exclusive and pristine walking safari destinations — a 4,636 km² wilderness that receives only a handful of visitors at any time. No vehicles are permitted beyond the park boundaries; this is a walking-only safari destination where small groups traverse the bush on multi-day trails, sleeping in simple fly-camps under the stars. The park is managed as a wilderness area by the Frankfurt Zoological Society, with strict visitor limits and minimal infrastructure. Buffalo herds of 1,000+ are a North Luangwa specialty, along with healthy populations of lion, leopard, and the elusive wild dog.
