About Lake Mburo National Park
Lake Mburo National Park is Uganda's most accessible and underrated wildlife destination — a compact 370 km² park that serves as the perfect introduction to Ugandan safari or a convenient stop between Kampala and the western parks. The park's mosaic of acacia woodland, rocky ridges, and five shimmering lakes supports the only population of zebra and eland in western Uganda, along with healthy numbers of hippo, buffalo, and the strikingly beautiful impala (found nowhere else in Uganda). Lake Mburo is also one of Uganda's best parks for horseback safaris and night drives, offering activities not available in larger national parks.
