About Kidepo Valley National Park
Kidepo Valley is Uganda's most spectacular and remote national park — consistently ranked among Africa's finest wilderness areas by those fortunate enough to visit. Set in the extreme northeast, bordering South Sudan and Kenya, Kidepo's dramatic landscape of rugged mountains, palm-fringed valleys, and vast savanna plains creates scenery that rivals Kenya's best. The park supports species found nowhere else in Uganda: cheetah, ostrich, and striped hyena roam the plains alongside large lion prides and elephant herds. The Karamojong people who live around the park maintain their traditional pastoralist lifestyle, adding rich cultural depth.
