About Tarangire National Park
Tarangire National Park is Tanzania's hidden jewel — a vast wilderness of ancient baobab trees, sweeping savanna, and one of the highest elephant concentrations in East Africa. During the dry season, the Tarangire River draws thousands of elephants (herds of 300+ are common), massive buffalo herds, and diverse predators. The park's landscape is dominated by iconic swollen baobab trees — some over 1,000 years old. Despite being the sixth-largest national park in Tanzania, Tarangire receives a fraction of the visitors that flock to the Serengeti, making it excellent for uncrowded safari experiences.
