About Serengeti National Park
The Serengeti is Africa's most legendary wildlife arena — an endless canvas of golden grasslands stretching to the horizon where the greatest wildlife spectacle on Earth unfolds. Home to the Great Wildebeest Migration, over 2 million wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle trace a circular route through the ecosystem in search of fresh grazing, pursued by Africa's densest concentration of predators. The Serengeti's 14,750 km² of pristine savanna support the largest lion population in Africa (over 3,000), massive herds of elephant, and the highest cheetah density anywhere on Earth. Designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1981, the Serengeti forms the heart of a vast ecosystem that includes Kenya's Masai Mara.
