About Lake Manyara National Park
Lake Manyara National Park is a compact but extraordinarily diverse gem nestled at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Manyara is best known for its famous tree-climbing lions, which drape themselves across the branches of acacia and mahogany trees. The lake attracts millions of flamingos that create a pink carpet across the water, along with pelicans, storks, and over 400 bird species. Ernest Hemingway described Manyara as 'the loveliest lake in Africa.'
