About Amboseli National Park
Amboseli National Park offers what is arguably the most iconic image in African safari photography: massive elephant herds silhouetted against the snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro. This compact 392 km² park at the foot of Africa's tallest mountain is home to some of the largest-tusked elephants remaining in Africa, many of which have been studied by researchers for over 40 years. The park's open terrain, spring-fed swamps, and Kilimanjaro's permanent snowcap create a photographer's paradise. Amboseli's elephant population is one of the best-studied in the world, and the matriarchs here are legendary.
